The Norwegian military industry is actively developing

. . . .

Over the past 10 years, the export of various weapons from Norway has been constantly increasing. Wars in the world in the early 2000s gave impetus to the development of a new industry for the country of the fjords – the military.

The war in Ukraine made an excellent advertisement for Norwegian weapons. For example, the high-precision NASAMS rocket launchers were developed by the Norwegian company Kongsberg.

For 10 years, the largest Norwegian defense companies Nammo and Kongsberg have increased their turnover by 150%. We are already talking about billions of dollars.

The increase in arms supplies allows Norwegian defense companies to conduct active international economic expansion. For example, the Norwegian public-private company Nammo began buying shares in US defense companies.

In 2007, Nammo acquired the US assets of weapons manufacturer Talley and today is the leader in the US anti-tank weapons market.

Since 2007, Kongsberg has signed contracts worth 11.7 billion crowns with the US Army, and already manufactures weapons in the US itself.

41% of Nammo’s turnover comes from American customers. The company plans to further gain a foothold in the fast-growing US market through the acquisition of new assets.
