11 липня 2023 р. тодішнього командира 58-ї звільнили, ймовірно, через те, що він наполягав на заміні частини сил. 70-й та 71-й мотострілкові полки зіткнулися з особливо інтенсивним виснаженням та важкими боями на передовій.
«Існує реалістична можливість того, що передислокація, ймовірно, зробить оборону росії біля східного берега Дніпра слабшою, де їх дедалі більше б’ють нальоти українських десантних сил», – вважають у британській розвідці.

British intelligence studies the reasons and consequences of such redeployment.
According to the British Ministry of Defence, the 58th Combined Arms Army of Russia has been at the front since June 4, 2023.
On July 11, 2023, the then commander of the 58th was fired, probably because he insisted on replacing part of the force. The 70th and 71st motorized rifle regiments faced particularly intense exhaustion and heavy fighting on the front lines.
“There is a realistic possibility that the redeployment is likely to weaken Russia’s defenses near the eastern bank of the Dnipro, where they are increasingly being hit by raids by Ukrainian landing forces,” British intelligence believes.
