Німецький концерн Rheinmetall веде переговори щодо будівництва заводу з виробництва танків в України.
«Завод Rheinmetall може бути збудований в Україні приблизно за 200 мільйонів євро. Він міг би виробляти до 400 бойових танків Panther на рік», – заявив генеральний директор Rheinmetall Армін Паппергер в інтерв’ю газеті Rheinische Post. Переговори з українським урядом були «обіцяючими», зазначив Паппергер. Він сподівається, що рішення буде ухвалено «в найближчі два місяці».
Генеральний директор Rheinmetall переконаний, що завод в Україні можна буде захистити від російських повітряних атак за допомогою ППО. На його думку, для перемоги Україні знадобиться від 600 до 800 танків, і виробництво нових танків необхідно розпочати якнайшвидше. «Навіть якщо Німеччина передасть усі 300 танків Leopard 2 Бундесверу, цього буде замало».
В даний час Rheinmetall постачає близько 250 танків у зв’язку з війною в Україні. “Ми працюємо на повній швидкості”, – сказав Паппергер. — Ми вже ввели до ладу понад 40 бойових машин піхоти Marder, а до кінця року їх буде близько 100. З 50 Leopard 2A4 готові близько 30 танків. Крім того, є близько 100 Leopard однієї старої конструкції, з яких ми можемо зробити 88 придатними до експлуатації з сьогоднішньої точки зору».
Паппергер очікує, що війна триватиме «можливо, ще довгі роки»: «Західні союзники посилають достатньо зброї, щоб Україна могла захистити себе, але українці сьогодні не мають потрібної кількості техніки, щоб повернути всю свою територію. У той же час, росія не має таких великих ресурсів, як Захід в цілому». Але він не бачить, щоб «керівництво навколо Путіна пішло на якісь поступки від свого агресивного курсу щодо України».

The German armored weapon maker Rheinmetall is negotiating the construction of a tank production plant in Ukraine.
“The Rheinmetall plant can be built in Ukraine for approximately 200 million euros. It could produce up to 400 Panther battle tanks a year,” said Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger in an interview with the Rheinische Post newspaper. Negotiations with the Ukrainian government were “promising,” Papperger noted. He hopes that a decision will be made “in the next two months.”
The general director of Rheinmetall is convinced that the plant in Ukraine will be able to be protected from Russian air attacks with the help of air defense. In his opinion, Ukraine will need 600 to 800 tanks for victory, and the production of new tanks must be started as soon as possible. “Even if Germany hands over all 300 Leopard 2 tanks to the Bundeswehr, it will not be enough.”
Rheinmetall is currently supplying about 250 tanks in connection with the war in Ukraine. “We are working at full speed,” Papperger said. — We have already commissioned more than 40 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, and by the end of the year there will be about 100 of them. About 30 tanks are ready with 50 Leopard 2A4s. In addition, there are about 100 Leopards of the same old design, of which we can make 88 operational from today’s point of view.”
Papperger expects the war to continue “perhaps for many years to come”: “The Western allies are sending enough weapons for Ukraine to defend itself, but the Ukrainians today do not have the necessary amount of equipment to take back all their territory. At the same time, russia does not have such great resources as the West as a whole.” But he does not see “the leadership around Putin making any concessions from their aggressive course towards Ukraine.”
